The annual Red Shoe Crew Walk for Families brings communities across Newfoundland and Labrador together to raise funds that support families with a child receiving medical care. Presented by Newfoundland Labrador Hydro and hosted by volunteers throughout the province each September, the event coincides with the anniversary of the opening of Ronald McDonald House Newfoundland and Labrador in 2012. Participants can walk, run, and fundraise in their own communities, helping ensure families have access to the accommodations, programs, and support they need during their child’s medical journey.
More than a fundraiser, the Walk for Families is a celebration of the power of community. Every step taken helps reduce the financial and emotional burdens families face while seeking medical care for their child, allowing them to focus on what matters most, being together when it matters most. It is a celebration of the meaningful impact we can make when we come together in support of families across our province.
